Creating Connections: The building block of successBuilding blocks for everyone
One of the counselors at Success High School, Mr. Perez,
greeted members of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. Mu Beta Sigma Chapter with
open arms this morning. The staff was
very friendly and very helpful providing all the information we needed to
successfully complete the 4th annual Youth Symposium.
There was an overall feeling of a shared group effort with Mu
Beta Sigma; everyone was being great team players. I saw everyone contributing; the Rhoers (ages
12 to 18) and even the Rhosebuds (like me), who range from ages 8 to 11.
We learned a lot today. The focus was about true leadership, the commitment of teaching skilled drummers, we met fire fighters, and police officers, who talked about saving lives and safety. My biggest take away was even when the odds are against you and you are afraid, do it anyway! As youth, we have to learn to become true overcomers. Regardless of the obstacles, being prepared to save lives is extremely important in these times. Youth must be confident to assume leadership roles and despite any limitations, you can contribute to the success of others. Let's face it, what does success look like when you are alone? The goal is to share your life and be BOLD when you do it!The photos:
Now that I know I have your attention, let's look at some of the photos from the youth symposium.
