Creating Connections: The building block of success

Hey, it's your girl Mimi and I'm excited to share my fabulous day with each of you.  On March 3, 2018, I participated in the Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. Mu Beta Sigma Chapter Youth Symposium at Success High School in Round Rock, Texas.

Brief Introduction:
Let me offer you a brief introduction.  I am Rhosebud Melodi Tyson, and today I am proudly blogging for Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.  Mu Beta Sigma Chapter.  I am ten years old and I am in the 5th grade. I am sure that you already gather that I love school.  Now, getting back to the article, I believe this is absolutely the best name for a high school... Success High School!

 Building blocks for everyone

One of the counselors at Success High School, Mr. Perez, greeted members of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. Mu Beta Sigma Chapter with open arms this morning.  The staff was very friendly and very helpful providing all the information we needed to successfully complete the 4th annual Youth Symposium.

There was an overall feeling of a shared group effort with Mu Beta Sigma; everyone was being great team players.  I saw everyone contributing; the Rhoers (ages 12 to 18) and even the Rhosebuds (like me), who range from ages 8 to 11.

We learned a lot today.  The focus was about true leadership, the commitment of teaching skilled drummers, we met fire fighters, and police officers, who talked about saving lives and safety.  My biggest take away was even when the odds are against you and you are afraid, do it anyway!

As youth, we have to learn to become true overcomers.  Regardless of the obstacles, being prepared to save lives is extremely important in these times.  Youth must be confident to assume leadership roles and despite any limitations, you can contribute to the success of others.  Let's face it, what does success look like when you are alone?  The goal is to share your life and be BOLD when you do it!

Now that I know I have your attention, let's look at some of the photos from the youth symposium.
